“We have a machine for that”

Filed under: Uncategorized — unaleona @ 6:37 pm

Just a few things for which we would use a machine instead:

Exhibit A: We have gas stations for this.

(Not to say that there aren’t gas stations in Mali.  But there are also these kinds of gas stations.  I’ve even had a taxi driver refuse to stop at the real gas station I directed him to do, because he doesn’t like THAT kind.)

Exhibit B

Exhibit B

(I guess I’m stretching it somewhat, but I mean, if you wanted to cook that much rice all at once, we must have a machine to stir in the vast quantities of palm oil, right?)

Exhibit C

(We don’t use clabashes, we have a machine to make bowls at the factory.  Also, a carved out van is a machine, but loading your stuff this way is so ridiculous it falls into this category.)

Exhibit D

(If people made To in other places, they would definitely have a better system. Anyway, we definitely have a machine instead of a cauldron over three huge logs.)
